“Should I ever crumble to dust, rebuild my walls you must!” These words are engraved on the walls of the Blackheads House, and they served as inspiration for the people of Riga to rebuild the structure after it was destroyed during World War II. The Blackheads House was essentially built anew, and it opened its doors in 1999. It can be said that the building offers vivid evidence of the love and craftsmanship skills of the people of Riga.

The Blackheads House can still be seen as a business card for Old Riga. It is visited on a daily basis by tourists from various countries. They record their delightful impressions in the guestbook, and these can be read in Norwegian, English, Russian, Chinese, Italian, Lithuanian, Swedish and French, among other languages.
