SIA Forum Cinemas, representing five film distribution companies (20th Century Fox International, Sony Pictures Releasing International, Universal Pictures International, Paramount Pictures International, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures), is the largest film distributor and exhibitor in Latvia, as well as the operator of the multiplex, Kino Citadele. SIA Forum Cinemas was founded 15 years ago and currently is the daughter company of the Finnish Finnkino.

The company started its activities with the modernization of the image and sound quality of the film theatre Pionieris, later Oskars, proceeding with the reconstruction of the film theatre, Daile, into the first duplex in Latvia. SIA Forum Cinemas pays a special attention to the image and sound quality, installing the most state-of-the-art equipment in every newly opened film theatre. In the attempt to improve the offer of film theatres in Latvia by providing the most recent films for exhibition, the total number of films exhibited per year has grown from 50 to more than 100 titles. Likewise, the attendance has grown proportionally, especially after the opening of Kino Citadele in the end of 2003.

Finnkino’s chain of film theatres, Forum Cinemas operates also in Lithuania and Estonia. Finnkino with its daughter companies in the Baltic countries is a part of Rautakirja group, a subdivision of Sanoma, one of the biggest media companies in the Nordic countries.

SIA Forum Cinemas employs 130 persons, working both in the office and film theatre. Atis Amoliņš is the managing director of the company.

From March 21st. 2006, company name has changed from SIA Baltic Cinema to SIA Forum Cinemas.

From November 1st. 2008, cinema house name has changed from Coca Cola Plaza to Parex Plaza. From September 17th 2010 cinema house name is Kino Citadele.
