Description
Present architectural manor complex developed at the end of the 18th century. The Classicism style manor-house was built for Baron von Repenak after the project of architect Severin Yensen. This building's building technique has interesting features. The ground floor is walled of bricks and pargetted, but the first floor is made of anguled logs but its facades are complemented with pilasters of 3 types, decorative edgings and the decorative painding was made directly on the logs. The building was enlarged in 1860, two 2-floor outbuildings at the sides of old structure were built, the roof was lowered, but the interior finish got its new shape. In that time the parget was put also on the log-built part of the facade and the pilsters were covered. After the agrarian reform in 1920 the building was adapted for the neds of school in 1920-1930. There still have preserved seperate household buildings. Now the building houses Staļģene Elementary School.
The park at the manor-house was made at the time of H.von Repenak. The complicated planning includes system of connected ponds, alleys of lindens, circle planted of Holand lime-trees and the summerhouse.
